NO PARKING :
MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE
I noticed these words in bold near a church in my province. But what really caught my attention is the car beside that sign. This obviously shows the inability of our government to implement rules and laws. And it is not just the fault of our government but also of the citizens. Is the driver of that car numb enough not to notice that huge sign? And actually that picture was taken in front of the municipal hall where a lot of cops reside, how can they resist that scenario? After I took up Political Science I, I realized that our country’s worsening status is our fault. Not only just the greedy politicians but also unconscious citizens of this nation contribute to the crisis we are experiencing now. All of us are accountable of what was happening.
Is this the government we want? Our government today has a worse corruption record. But corruption is just one of the problems. More disturbing is the fact that more Filipino families are now victims of a worsening economic crisis. We can definitely see it coming. Huge numbers of people leaving the country, seeking for a better life abroad because of the very reason that these Pinoys found really nothing to do here. but what shall the government do if most of these OFWs are expecting to lose their job due to the global recession? We have financial problem and lack of funds. How will poor Filipinos survive?? Middle class families are changing their lifestyles to fit their decreasing budgets. And consequently, we see poor families getting frustrated because they can’t even feed themselves and their families properly.
One obvious from these crisis is that Filipinos setup their own businesses. Entrepreneurship is the key against poverty, some says. Sometimes when i just go around our province and i'll see thousands of cafeterias, eateries and stores scattered almost everywhere. And the Filipinos are finding their own solutions to their problems. Yet, our national economy is still in crisis due to the depressed global economy, then we might see more frustrations from the people.
What's the solution? i think we need a change that would boost the people and the politicians morale. Without a political solution, we may yet find Filipinos doing their own thing to escape from the reality of suffering in poverty. We should have a united will to lift ourselves up from damnation.
